I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself! My name is Haley Heydt and I am the new school counselor for Wilson West Middle School! I am so excited to be a part of the West family working with students with last names M-Z. I have heard such wonderful things about the school and community, so I feel extremely lucky to be a part of it!

I look forward to getting to know the students and community, but first I wanted to share a little about me. I grew up in Berks County and graduated from Boyertown Area Senior High School. I went to Kutztown University where I earned a Bachelors in Psychology and went on to obtain a Masters in Counseling from Gwynedd Mercy University. Prior to coming to West, I worked as a long-term substitute at Daniel Boone Area Primary Center and Cornwall Terrace Elementary.

As a school counselor I strive to help students learn more about themselves. Middle school is a great time for students to become more self-aware of their strenghts and interests as they discover who they are. I love my job because I am blessed with the opportunity to positively impact lives, nurture hearts, spread joy and inspire growth every day!

Communication is one of the most important parts of my job so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding your child. Kids sometimes hesitate to talk to their counselor for a variety of reasons but we are confidential and safe place here at West. I follow an open-door policy, welcoming anyone through my door regardless of their question or concern.
