Wilson School District prides itself on providing students with a variety of opportunities to recieve support. In addition to our school counselors, Wilson also offer individual school-based counseling through an outside agency called Empowerment Behavioral Health.
What is school-based counseling?
School-based counseing is outpatient counseling services that are provided within the school district. Children and adolescents are offered counseling services by Master’s level clinicians within his/her school, thereby increasing access to services. Just like talking to the school counselor, a student's privacy is always protected. Referrals are made through the guidance office, students, parents, or the school Student Assistance Program (SAP) liaison.
If this is something you are interested, please contact your child's school counselor.
