Actions We Took
Ata, Brayden, Harper, and Emmie took action by going around the community to different restaurants to give them a flyer that Harper and Brayden made with facts about how the plastic they use affects marine life to inspire local restaurants to consider changing their materials.

For this action, Brayden, Cooper, Harper, and Ata got together to help plant mangroves with Love the IRL. They picked up dead leaves from trees, picked weeds that were growing in the mangroves, and helped put mulch down.

Hazel and Jack took action by participating in a beach cleanup hosted by the Surfrider Foundation and found lots of waste.
Zoey took action and went to Cocoa Beach and learned how they grow coral and sea grass.

Zoey also attended an online zoom meeting with the Sea Turtle Preservation Society to learn about sea turtles such as what is harming them, how many different species there are, and what can be done to protect them.

Hazel and Jack made a podcast on Spotify of them interviewing people associated with the Indian River Lagoon. These people were members of local organizations like One Lagoon and posted it on Spotify for everyone to see.

Emmie spoke with the owners of Cruise Cocoa to explain how the gas pollution from their boat tours impacts local marine life. She also created informative posters about the major ocean issues all over the world.
Cooper took action by creating an application in Python using the modules Tkinter and Pygame. This app analyzes images of marine animals and identifies their conservation status.
