Exciting work and discoveries are made in the STREAM Lab! Students in grades K-5 work on various projects employing the scientific method and the engineering design process. Some highlights include:
Fifth graders studied food chains and food webs; they designed and built an invented creature for whom they created a food web in a particular habitat
Fourth graders studied electrical circuits and applied their knowledge to create "Jitterbug" robots.
Third graders studied the engineering design process; they designed and built tables out of newspaper and cardboard strong enough to support several textbooks
Second graders continued to work on collaboration skills; in teams of two designed, built, and tested "Apple Trappers"
First graders studied animal structures; they participated in an experiment to test different shaped bird beaks to capture different types of food
Kindergarteners studied the five senses and applied the Scientific Method using their senses to gather data.
SGM students are continuing to grow and improve their 4 Cs: Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity, and Communication with each project in the STREAM lab.
