Welcome to the SGM STREAM Lab! My name is Lisa Zwiesler, and I am excited to welcome back, and for some the first time, the students at St. Gerard Majella School to our dedicated lab space.
I am beginning my 12th year in Catholic schools. Prior to teaching in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, I taught in the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau in southeast Missouri where I was a middle school teacher. In my previous position I taught science, math, literature, English, religion, and history; I also served as Assistant Principal. In 2015, I was awarded Teacher of the Year at the Southeast Missouri Regional Science Fair. I have a B.A. in Political Science and an M.S. Ed in Middle Childhood Education, both from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. Additionally, I have a graduate certificate in Catholic School Leadership from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. Before moving to Missouri in 2013, I was an adjunct faculty member at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio, in the Academic Development Department. I found my passion for teaching after a previous career in business. Before earning my M.S. Ed, I was the Marketing Director for Dayton Ballet Association.
I am blessed to be a mother. I have one son, Owen, who is a junior at SLUH. In my free time, I love to read, practice yoga, knit and crochet (attempt to anyway ;o), spend time hiking and fishing with my son, support him in his Boy Scout activities, volunteer at my parish St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, and travel home to be with our family and friends in Ohio.
