Our school was established in the 47th year of the Republic of China. It attached to Mingjian Junior Middle School (the present Mingjian Junior High School ) and was named as Sanguang Branch. It was renamed as Sanguang Junior Middle School independently in August of the 51st year of the Republic of China. Due to the implementation of the nine-year national education in August of the 57 th year of the Republic of China, it was renamed as Sanguang Junior High School.

Sanguang Junior High School is located in the middle of Mingjian Township. Most of the students gratuated from Gongxie Elementary School, Zhongshan Elementary School, Mingkang Primary School, and Qiaoxing Elementary School. Parents of this school district mainly make a living on the land; they grow tea plants and pineapples. In other words, Sanguang is a typical rural school.

The school name “Sanguang” originated from the famous Chinese wisdom book “Three Character Classic”(San Zi Jing). In this ancient book, it says “Tri-lights, a boon; Sun, stars, moon. ” Therefore, our school name implies the vigour of the three luminaries.

The stars respresent attractive glamour. And they corresponds to one of the core competencies “social participation”. We build a warm and harmonious campus culture. Therefore, our school works well in a team environment.

Thus we provide our students with a prosperous learning environment, in the hope that they grow up to be grateful, creative, energetic,and positive. Furthermore, they learn it’s important to seize every opportunity to broaden their horizons and to devote themselves to a bright future.
Campus
Our campus has a total area of 21010.69 square meters. It was rebuilt in the 93rd and 95 th year of the Republic of China separately. It’s also worth mentioning that on the 60th school anniversary, the three main buildings were named according to the school name: XIANG YANG LOU (Administration Building), MAN YUE LOU(Teaching Building),and CAN XING LOU(Specialist Building ). Nowadays, we possess modern hardware facilities, green and beautiful environment and a library with plenty of books. All above provide our students superior circumstances.
