Student Wellbeing Programming
Connections to School - Incoming grades 6-8
Goal: Connecting students to school through activities that support positive school relationships and social interactions.
Objectives:
Increase student engagement and attendance
Increase resilience and social connections
Establish and maintain emotional regulation skills
Familiarizing supports in the building (counseling office, main office, nurse’s office, etc.)
Day/Time: 8/21 and 8/22, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Format: The program will include two half days in the building that will be led by faculty and staff engaging in a variety of activities to help students manage and identify anxieties, maintain relationships, establish connections and build community.

Future Exploration Program
Goal: The goal of this program explores college and careers through a local college/university visit, along with support in the college application process.
Dates: August TBD - A sign up form for the event will be sent out through email and google classrooms for students.
Format: The designated day will be split up by attending a college visit during the morning and a college application workshop in the afternoon. Attendance can be for both the AM and PM sessions or just one.
Expectations for students:
Students will have the opportunity to explore a college campus and become familiar with what to expect during college visits and tours.
Students will gain a headstart on completing their college applications through a variety of platforms such as the commonapp.org, SUNY and college specific applications.
Students will utilize the High School Guidance & Counseling Department as a resource in their post-secondary planning.
