Emergency Care

Spring Grove EMS provides 911 EMS response to 7 municipalities in York County, PA as well as numerous other municipalities as mutual aid. Our providers maintain current certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Health at the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), or Paramedic levels. Spring Grove EMS utilizes 2 Ambulances and 1 Medic Unit to provide care in the following capacities:

  • Ambulances provide Basic Life Support (BLS) staffed by 2 EMT's, or 1 EMT and 1 EMR. This unit can be upgraded by a Paramedic when necessary. Ambulances provide assessment, treatment and transport per State BLS Protocol.
  • Medic 4 is a "chase" unit providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) and is staffed by a Paramedic. These units are able to upgrade ambulances from a BLS to ALS level of care when requested by that ambulance or dispatched by YCC 911.
  • Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICU) are ambulances staffed at minimum by 2 providers, 1 Paramedic and an EMT partner. They are capable of providing both Advanced and Basic Life Support as required per call.

Spring Grove EMS currently staffs 1 Ambulance and the Medic Unit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Monday-Friday we also staff a 2nd Ambulance during peak hours of business. These units can be staffed at either the BLS, IALS, or ALS level as staffing dictates.

Non-Emergency Care

Spring Grove Ambulance currently provides non-emergency transports. The non-emergency transports are for anyone that needs transported for an appointment or procedure that is unable to sit up in a car or wheel chair.
