The A.P.A. form for writing papers is noted on the following website: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/workshops/hypertext/ResearchW/index.html and is the only acceptable form for papers presented in Fair competition. Students will receive support from their ELA teacher when working on the research portion of their papers for the Science Fair in Nov/Dec.
The ELA teacher will also assist students in learning and practicing the research paper APA format writing process.
PLEASE NOTE:
PLEASE NOTE:
- Grade 6 students will not be presenting in the local or regional science fairs, but will be receiving direct instruction on Scientific Methods and Experimentation approaches and working on a mock research project as a class to better understand what they will be expected to put into practice next year.
- I am planning our local Gr. 7 & 8 fair accordingly so that students may meet all deadlines and complete all regional electronic SRC paperwork in advance and therefore be eligible to participate at the regional level should they qualify. Thank you for your patience.
- Students are expected to be supported at home, but complete this project independently, and also communicate directly with Mrs. Shaughnessy with questions as they arise.
- Thank you for your help in keeping your son/daughter accountable to the timeline/deadlines for our school fair.
- Please note: I will continue to adjust deadlines as needed (within reason) to accommodate various situations.
