Designated ELD Instruction: Secondary

Designated ELD is defined as instruction provided to multilingual learners (MLs) grouped by their English proficiency levels during a protected time during the regular school day for focused instruction on the state-adopted ELD standards. Teachers of Designated ELD understand the unique language needs of their students, and plan the language objectives and targets that best support MLs to develop critical English language skills needed for successful learning in content courses.
