High School Sheltered content instruction

Sheltered content instruction utilizes distinct instructional techniques and strategies to help multi language learners (MLL's) understand demanding lesson content. Sheltered content teachers plan lessons with language and content objectives that correspond to grade-level standards, while also providing the scaffolded language instruction necessary for their MLL students to express their ideas. Sheltered content teachers are cognizant of their students’ language levels, and plan the language objectives accordingly.
