The San Francisco Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC), is a cooperative effort between the San Francisco Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union #6. The JATC is charged with the responsibility of recruiting and training apprentices to meet the ever-growing needs of the Electrical Industries.
CityBuild provides comprehensive pre-apprenticeship and construction administration training to San Francisco residents. It is an internationally-recognized model for creating opportunities and careers for residents through local projects.
Apprenticeship is designed to prepare individuals, generally a high school graduate, and produce highly qualified and well-trained workers who have solid knowledge as well as specific, technical job skills for occupations in the skilled trades and crafts. Upon completion of an apprenticeship program, the State of California Department of Industrial Relations California Apprenticeship Council awards a Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship in the trade.
