Tania Johnson loves helping young people develop their artistic voices. Specializing in vocal technique and coaching, Tania draws upon her background as an actor/singer/dancer/music director to bring a holistic approach to her work with students. She earned her B.A. in music from U.C. Berkeley where she was proud to have been founding music director for the still flourishing student run theatre company, BareStage. Her most recent music direction projects have been with East Bay Area Children's Theatre, Contra Costa Civic Theatre, Tomorrow Youth Repertory, and Berkeley Playhouse where she was resident music director for KidStage productions from 2015-2019. She is recipient of the 2014 Theatre Bay Area Award for Outstanding Music Direction for her work on Always...Patsy Cline! at Altarena Playhouse. Favorite onstage credits include Reno Sweeney (The Western Stage), Frl. Kost (SF Playhouse), and touring with The MeshugaNutcracker! (National Jewish Theatre Festival). Tania was active as an educator and music director at Alameda High from 2012-2018, and continues to teach in the musical theatre classes at St. Joseph's High School in Alameda.
