What is it?

Gateway to Technology is a challenge course that focuses on career exploration and entrepreneurship within specific technologically related fields.

Potential fields of study include

• Video Production
• Animation
• Robotics
• Graphic Design
• Game Design
• Manufacturing/Engineering

During each unit of study, students will research each industry to discover potential career paths, work environments, and professional expectations. From there, students will learn the specific industry processes behind creating a marketable product, and then produce their own work to be presented to their peers and industry professionals for critique. Throughout the course students will revisit the entrepreneurial mindset characteristics practiced in 7th grade Startup Tech.

Students will be expected to create a professional online presence, learn how to interact professionally online with potential employers or partners, and create a personal portfolio that will be used as a place for them to showcase their work to others.
