Injury During Class:
Students must report any and all injuries to their PE teacher at the time when the injury occurs.
Medical Issues:
A parent note will not excuse a student from total participation in Physical Education class. Modifications can be made by the instructors so that a student can still physically participate during class. If a student has a medical condition that limits his/her participation in a class, a “Can Do List” from a doctor is required. A “Can Do List” should explain what physical activities the student can participate in based on his/her medical issue. For example, if a student broke his/her arm, the medical provider may determine that the student can walk rather than participating in the planned class activity. A medical note must be presented to the nurse and the PE teacher. The note must include the duration of nonparticipation in PE. Students will not be allowed to fully participate in PE class until the time frame is completed or a new medical note is presented from the doctor. Long term medical issues may include special arrangements/assignments for the student.
