Seymour Middle School Physical Education Class Grading
Physical Education grading will be split into two main components: performance and process.
Performance (80%): The performance grade emphasizes the participation, effort and learning journey a student takes. This includes their engagement in class activities, willingness to try new techniques, and overall growth. Even if a student's final performance isn't perfect, their dedication and progress throughout the learning process are recognized. This part of the grade specifically reflects student performance in warm-ups, adherence to lesson expectations, sportsmanship, and safety awareness.
Process (20%): The process grade reflects a student's preparation for class. This includes arriving to class on time, wearing appropriate physical education attire, and bringing necessary materials, such as a hair tie or sneakers. Being prepared ensures that a student can fully participate in class activities and contribute to a productive learning environment. Consistent preparedness supports effective participation and helps students engage more fully in each lesson.
