Progression:

Choose one:

  • Math of Personal Finance
  • Secondary Math III
  • Accounting

College Bound

Fine Arts and Humanities Majors:

Art, Communication, Creative Writing, Literature, Music, Spanish, Theatre, English, Philosophy, etc


Progression:

  • Secondary Math I and lab
  • Secondary Math II and lab
  • Secondary Math III
  • CE Math 1030 (Offered IVC through Snow College)


College Bound

Nursing and Social Science Majors:

Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, etc.


Progression:

  • Secondary Math I and lab
  • Secondary Math II and lab
  • Secondary Math III
  • CE Math 1040 - Statistics

College Bound

STEM, Business, and education* majors:

Biology, Chemistry, Computer Sciences, Engineering, Geology, Mathematics, Natural Resources, Physics, Business, Information Technology, Elementary or Secondary Education, etc.

Progression:

  • Secondary Math I and lab
  • Secondary Math II and lab
  • Secondary Math III
  • CE Math 1050 - College Algebra

Please note:

  • Secondary Math I/II/III Honors may be substituted for I/II/III regular in above progression
  • Secondary Math III is a required class for juniors, but non-college bound students may opt instead to take Math of Personal Finance or Accounting for the 3rd required math credit with parental permission and signed opt-out form
  • ALL college bound students are recommended to take four years of math
  • Math 1030 and 1040 require a student to pass Secondary Math I, II, and III with a C or better grade in order to qualify for concurrent enrollment (college) credit
  • Math 1050 requires a student to have a 23 or better on the math portion of the ACT. This requirement can be challenged with the ALEKS PPL (2019-2010 school year and beyond)
  • These pathways are a SUGGESTION and each person's post-high school plans may require something different. Consult with the math department, counselor, and the college/university you plan on attending for the most helpful information regarding your individual situation
