Students who wish to study in the English/Language Arts field will be exposed to a broad and versatile field offering students a wide variety and array of career paths and choices. Courses in the English/Language Arts field will help provide basic and foundational communication skills required in nearly every occupational field. The ability to communicate is oft considered the number one skill employers seek in their employees. Students studying English/Language Arts may consider career-related pathways including healthcare, science, business management, and law.
Students in the English/Language Arts pathway develop skills in research, analysis of information, and communicating information through their speech and their writing. English/Language Arts courses often include the study of specific cultures and the impact these specific cultures have upon society and the history of a society. English/Language Arts courses focus upon the basic skills of organizing thoughts and ideas, analyzing a variety of written texts and literature, arguing specific positions with supporting evidence, communicating effectively, thinking creatively, and listening productively.
