The Gifted Chris Minshew  

 (Retired)  NBL WORLD CHAMPION

 This article is a little personal for it is about a Team  I formed  and of the early days of the NBL National BlackBelt League in Texas which I was a big part of being a producer and promoter of the Karate Olympics  

A NBL event  ( NATIONAL BLACKBELT LEAUGE.

The Team consisted of Tony Lopez , Gary Lee , Danielle Dixon , Jennifer Lopez and my wife Chris Minshew at the time I believe these were the best representatives of Texas in the NBL , all certified champions in Texas already and Tony , Gary Danielle and Chris went on  and won world championships in thier divisions ,Tony and Gary won creative divisions and Gary won a world championship in breaking in 1993.

Chris came to me from Kansas and she had a gift , she was a teacher by trade so she understood the learning techniques , however the workouts , the drills , she would not guit always setting the examples for others follow along with her daily workouts I would get  her ready for national competitions, she understood from the beginning being a champions attitude and what it consisted of , Chris besides the gift of learning , she could fight ,mashed was smart , she could overcome adversity , winning world championships and one of the prestigious events in the world SUPER GRANDS. She was amazing to watch her strategy sometimes and it help she was very coachable.As a natural teacher she  has also passed  on her gifts to our daughter,  Stoney 

Who  was a sport karate phenomenal too.

Chris  would also excel in Kata and especially in creative Black Belt Kata

She was a full rounded competitor, she was a champions champion 

Setting the examples to follow.

In fact when Gary Lee brought in the “ X GAMES” j to the Houston’s ASTRODOME she performed in the shows kicking Gary in the head many times , lol  

She also participated in the huge demonstrations in MEXICO with Gary kicking him the head  many , many times .

I guess she likes kicking Gary in the head,  LOL!

Chris Minshew  is one of the most gifted martial artist I have been privileged to to teach Texas  sport karate to over the years.
