(we will begin student of the week after Labor Day
Our student of the week gets to take home our special "Prayer Bear" from Friday to Friday. This is such sweet SES reminder that we can always rely on Jesus and how we can Pray through ALL things. Please send the binder and bear back on the Friday along with their All About Me Page! Your child is also allowed to bring an optional snack to share the the class, a show and tell toy, favorite book, and email our class 4-5 pictures of them doing some of their favorite things on (M-TH)! Fridays we have cupcakes for Katie and Mass. We can't wait to hear all about their adventure with Prayer Bear!
Each student gets a turn with Traveling Katie for a week! Traveling Katie is a small wooden board on which an image of St. Katharine, our school foundresss, is painted by a local artist. The board is enclosed in a cloth bag with information about St. Katharine. Please take the time to look at the information in the bag and help foster a meaningful expierence for your child and your family! She is a specially blessed so we ask that it to be respected and taken care of while she is in your home. Bring her to church, place her on your mantle, or on your dining table for dinner time! :)
*Letter A
Each week, we will fill our "letter bucket" with items that begin with the sound of the letter we are learning. Please have your child bring ONE item from home that begins with the sound of the letter we are learning. They will be able to share (show & tell) their item with the class on the day that they choose to bring their item in. Please make sure this item is small enough to fit in their backpack and will fit in our bucket.
EXAMPLE: For letter A and the /a/ sound, your child could bring a small plastic alligator from home.
Please don't go out and buy anything and this is OPTIONAL!
"With God, All things are Possible!"
St. Rita of Cascia was chosen as our classroom Saint this school year. She is the patron Saint of the "impossible". She faced many challenges but always persisted in prayer. This year, we ask for St. Ritas intercession to teach and help us know, that with God, All things are possible and he can help us in so many ways! We must pray and thank God in all things!
St. Rita,
Pray for Us!
