Guidance Mission Statement

Redwood High School will support, encourage and advocate for students in all areas of learning by providing information and resources in a safe and nurturing environment – a place that fosters and promotes academic excellence, respect, personal growth and health literacy.

Student outcomes, objectives and expectations:

  • Students will feel safe, respected, supported and inspired at Redwood High School.

  • Students will experience advocacy, receive guidance and feel a sense of belonging at Redwood High School.

  • Students will understand the various graduation options while at Redwood High School.

  • Students will learn, understand and be able to access multiple resources related to their learning and overall growth and development.

  • Students will learn about risk factors and their relationship to overall growth and development.

  • Students will understand how to plan, monitor, improve and strengthen their academic program.

  • Students will understand how to progress in their learning, thus experience and maintain academic achievement and success.

  • Students will learn and understand all postsecondary education options.

  • Students will learn, understand and be able to plan their postsecondary education plan.

  • Students will learn, understand and be able to apply to college, vocational and other programs after completing a diploma pathway.

  • Students will understand the financial support available for postsecondary education.

  • Students will have the confidence and competencies to complete a high school diploma pathway and be successful in their future educational endeavors.
