■　授業の主題と目標

ブリティッシュブラスとはコルネット、ユーフォニアムに代表されるサクソルン属の楽器にトロンボーン、打楽器を加えた英国スタイルの金管バンドである。

授業は基本的に、基本編成・中編成・大編成の3つの形態で合奏を行なうが、状況によっては基本編成・中編成グループA.グループBの3つのグループで合奏を行なう場合がある。いずれの場合も前期・後期に演奏会を予定している。

演奏会では第1部（基本編成）にナショナルブラスバンドシップの課題曲を、第2部（中編成）ではイギリスの作曲家によるオリジナル作品を、第3部では大編成のマスバンドでオーケストラのアレンジ作品等を演奏予定である。

授業では、様々なレパートリーの演奏だけでなく、ブラスバンドの歴史や変遷などを学習し、合奏に必要なトレーニングやその方法をコラールやシンプルな曲を通じて学び、実践していく。
