1st Grade

Brazil

The first grade class had a great time studying Brazil! They enjoyed learning about where Brazil is located, its landforms, the food, the culture and all the animals that live there. They learned about Rio de Janeiro, Carnival, and they even learned how to dance the Samba! They were especially excited to discover 60% of the Amazon Rainforest is located in Brazil. If you come to the ECC building, you may discover first graders making Brazil out of legos and blocks; you will see the Atlantic Ocean, famous Copacabana beach, Amazon Rainforest, Amazon River, famous Cristo Redentor statue, and the Seleron Steps!

Red Eyed Tree Frog Paragraphs and Rainforest Layer Projects

We are learning how to write a paragraph!

The first grade students are so proud of their projects! They researched information about red-eyed tree frogs, used prewritting tools, learned how to write a paragraph, wrote their first "sloppy" copy, edited, and rewrote a final copy of their paragraph on red-eyed tree frogs to display! Lots of hard work!
