Our proposal 2020-21 Board of Regents Support Fund R & D Program, Research Competitiveness Subprogram “Development of Diastereo- and Enantioselective Aldol and MannichType Reaction of Substituted Phenylacetates and Tertiary Amides” has been funded for three years ($180,886.00). Congratulations Dr. Chanda!
Mr. Sean Reliford and Ms. Jasmine Mather joined the Chanda Research Group. Sean will work on the syn-selective aldol reactions of N,N-dialkylsubstitutedphenylacetamides and Jasmine will work on the enantioselective aldol reactions of substituted phenylacetates.

Stafford Primeaux submitted an abstract on diastereoselective aldol reactions of N, N-dialkylphenylacetamides for the 94th Annual Meeting of Louisiana Academy of Sciences. Scheduled meeting was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic. However, his abstract was evaluated for undergraduate research competition. He was awarded with the best undergraduate oral research presentation in the division of Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Sciences during 94th Annual Meeting of the Louisiana Academy of Sciences.
