SELF-HELP TIPS
🟤 Letting go (temporarily) of your phone can help
I sometimes escape to my phone when I feel tired or bored, hoping to get some refreshed ideas or laugh to boost my energy. But what I usually get after holding my phone is: I am not even recharged, I’m more and more tired!
Then I came across this article that told me to let go of my phone once in a while. Being bored is good to boost creativity, but running to your phone when you’re bored might not unleash that creativity. You can try these tips:
Put your phone out of reach: let your phone sleep and let your brain also rest. It might surprise you that you’re still fine after separating from your phone for a while.
Turn off notifications: Don’t let it tempt you. Go out and see the sun from your backyard. Let the sound of nature, your parents, your siblings, be your notifications for once in a while.
Schedule social media free days: Treat yourself to something good, be it a cooking day with your siblings, swimming day or crossword challenge with your family, or any other activities, where all the participants have to let go of their gadget to participate and win a good prize. Ask your parents to support you and your siblings will all join in.
Be a risk taker: delete the app that drags you on to your phone for a few weeks, and see what changes for you. Watch this TEDTalk to see how this can have a positive impact for so many people.
