🟠 FREEDOM DAY, MARCH 2020

Freedom Day (Grade 7-11).mp4

#MyFreedomDay is originally a movement produced by CNN to end modern slavery (CNN, 2020).

In 2020, together with the welfare team, we take the idea of freeing ourselves from modern slavery, such as technology addiction. Even though the freedom meaning might be different from the original meaning, we take the root of this movement to provide a chance for students to raise awareness of modern slavery and also experience the joy of freedom. Once we know how it feels, we can empathize with those who do not have this privilege of freedom, be it from human slavery, modern, or technology addiction slavery. Want to know more about it, click the video and check out a few pictures of our activity in 2020.

For our 2020 #MyFreedomDay celebration, we spent an extended lunch-time without any devices. We run, laughed, played, and joked with our friends, face to face. Some of us also spent the time to read books, color some mandalas, or simply chat with teachers and friends. We freed ourselves from the screen. One thing for sure, we enjoyed it!
