Mrs. Sassaman:

Integrated Science and Biology

Hi all! My name is Mrs. Sassaman and this will be my 12th year here at Selinsgrove Area. This is my 21th year of teaching! I graduated from Penn State with a degree in Pre-Veterinary medicine and then from Bloomsburg University with a degree in Education. I also have a Master's degree in Educational Leadership - STEAM focus from Immaculata University (partnered with NASA). I have worked a variety of jobs including an interesting few months in the cattle industry and two years at the Philadelphia Zoo where I handled reptiles for live shows and ‘babysat’ primates as an assistant zookeeper.

I am married and have two great kids. We live on a farm and raise beef cattle and grow fruit. We also have four dogs (3 hunting beagles and our standard poodle Rocky), countless cats and chickens. We are generally very busy people! I enjoy many hobbies (when I have time) such as reading, exercising, photography, kayaking, drinking coffee (is that a hobby or a habit...oh well), hunting, listening to music, baking, watching my kids play sports and anything else I can think of to relax.
