DUAL ENROLLMENT
If you are thinking about taking a Dual Enrollment class from MiraCosta this summer or fall you will need to:
1. Complete a free online application - Click HERE for the MCC Online Application Walkthrough. Once your application is uploaded and processed you will receive a Welcome Email with next steps).
2. Complete the Concurrent/Dual Registration form which will required signatures from the student, the parent and the high school Counselor. It’s very easy as there is a work flow built right into the form.
3. Clear any course prerequisites (if the course you want to take has a prerequisite you will need to submit the Prerequisite/Priority Registration form along with a copy of your transcript).
4. Register! High School students may register beginning June 8th for Summer and August 10th for Fall.
MIRACOSTA PROMISE
How do I apply for the Promise?
To apply to the program, complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a CA Dream Act Application (CADAA) and apply to MiraCosta College.
What are the eligibility requirements for "The Promise"?
In order to be eligible for the MiraCosta Promise, a participant must:
Be a first-time/full-time (FT/FT) college student. (First-Time students who have not previously attended a college or university. Students who take courses for the first time during the preceding summer session or while enrolled in high school are still considered first-time.
Apply to attend MiraCosta College for the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters and commit to enrolling in 12 units or more each semester.
Register for 12 units or more by the full-semester add/drop deadline each semester.
Maintain enrollment in 12 units or more for both the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters.
Be a resident of the state of California for tuition purposes (or be AB540 eligible).
File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a California Dream Act Application (CADAA)
What are the benefits of the Promise?
Eligible students will have their mandatory fees waived (enrollment fees, health fee, and student center fee) for two years (second year pending state budget approval).

Individuals who are eager to enroll in a job training program and earn a middle-skilled job after high school. 15-16 weeks, 9 am-4 pm. Starting at $22-$25 p/hour. Students need to complete an entrance assessment that includes basic high school English skills and 11th-grade math.

MIRA COSTA TRANSCRIPTS (EARLY COLLEGE CREDIT)
For students who are requesting a transcript for articulated classes taken in previous years (grades already posted) - Please visit the Mira Costa website by clicking HERE to order transcripts from MCC and have them sent directly to the college you are planning to attend. Students can also pick up a hard copy and bring it to their college's Registrar's Office.
For students who are requesting a transcript for articulated classes taken in the current school year, MCC typically posts grades by September 1. If your college requires a transcript by July 1 and your grade is not yet posted, please reach out to MCC at transcripts@miracosta.edu after July 1 so they can work with you individually to send your records in a timely manner.
