Joining the military after graduation can be a great option for some students. However, joining the military is an important decision and not one to be taken lightly. The military offers many benefits like healthcare, educational assistance, technical skills training, travel and adventure, and the honor of serving your country. As with everything, it's important for you to do your research and be aware of your options.

Taking the ASVAB
The Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a timed, multiple-choice test developed by the Department of Defense. ASVAB scores are used to determine which job in the military would be a good fit for you. It can also be used for career exploration and many technical/vocational schools use the ASVAB for placement exams.
Recruiters will have information on test dates and locations.

ROTC
ROTC stands for Reserve Officer Training Corps. This program is offered in 1,700 universities and colleges throughout the US. ROTC helps college students prepare to enter a military career as officers in either the Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps. The Coast Guard doesn’t have an ROTC program.
Students in ROTC can benefit from scholarships, monthly stipends, and a career that is guaranteed after graduation. Students in ROTC also benefit from developing leadership skills, discipline, and good physical fitness.
