COVID 19 College Updates
COLLEGE & COVID, CONSISTENT MESSAGE:
There will be increased flexibility and understanding and that students will NOT be penalized for school, test center and college/university/program closures.
However, applicants must understand that test scores = more data, and may provide students with an advantage if scores are high.
Course grades of “Credit (CR)” will fulfill requirements for those courses completed during winter, spring or summer 2020 - summer 2021 terms. Grades of credit or no credit will not be included in the calculation of high school GPA.
The University of California schools strongly encourage potential applicants to take, whenever possible, A-G courses for letter grades, especially those in English and mathematics, as well as those in prospective major fields.
COLLEGE ADMISSION TESTING UPDATES:
There is limited testing capacity due to public health restrictions and high demand, resulting in many colleges temporarily waiving the testing requirement (test-optional). Confirm with your student’s colleges directly. June 2021: University of California schools will not consider SAT or ACT test scores when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships for fall 2022-2024 applicants. If a student chooses to submit test scores as a part of their application, they may be used to fulfill the English subject-matter requirement or for course placement and advising after students are admitted.
Please check our SDUHSD Assessment page regularly for updated information.
