Hello! I’m Sarah Kaye, and this is my 18th year teaching dance at Torrey Pines High School. My background includes more than 30 years of professional experience as a choreographer, performer, and dance educator.
Throughout my career, I have performed with the Robert Henry Johnson, Della Davidson, Malashock, and McCaleb dance companies in California. I have also had the opportunity to work with renowned choreographers including Joe Goode, Mary Reich, Pat Sandback, and Scott Wells.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Dance from San Diego State University in 1991 and was honored five years later as SDSU’s Dance Alumna of the Year. One of my greatest joys has been watching TPHS dance graduates continue their artistic journeys at universities and programs including Stanford, UCLA, UC Irvine, and the Philadelphia School of the Arts.
At TPHS, our dance teams have earned First, Second, and Third Place honors at both Regional and National competitions, achievements that reflect the dedication, artistry, and teamwork of our students.
My ongoing goal is to foster an inclusive and inspiring learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore dance through creativity, collaboration, and personal growth.
Outside of dance, I enjoy music, art, yoga, live performance, traveling, and spending time with family.
