Professional Development Opportunities:

FLEX DAY NEXT YEAR Information for Teachers

Teachers: flex day hours that you will complete for next year's Flex days. You need 12 hours total for the 25/26 school year.

Remember, you can't count hours that you were paid for or that were completed on contract time.

Here are some ways to get your FLEX day hours:

CCOT training: 8hrs -See LIST HERE if you are due to take CCOT -More info below as well

CPR: 3hrs- if you take it through the district you can get 3 hrs of credit

WS Refresher: 2hrs- we don't currently have information on specific dates offered

CLASS Primer Class for Teachers: 3hrs - see information below how to take that!

Naptime Academy

Any Child Care Aware Classes

Any of the 4 main required ABC Classes (Social/emotional, Math/Science/ CEDLS/ Pre-K ELLA)

CCOT (Child Care Orientation Training)

CCOT OR Arkansas New Staff training is due every 3 years.

You get 8hr of PD credit for this course.

Here is the list of all staff that need CCOT OR New Staff by August of 2024.

Teachers have the option of using these hours towards FLEX days or getting paid for them

IAs and Floaters: if you do this off contract time (summer or after school) then you can get paid for these hours.

Once you complete the course work, you need to print and send your certificates to Veronica Chavez at ECC to be processed.

CLASS Primer (Intro to new CLASS program that will take the place of ECRS in future)

As many of you know, Arkansas is moving away from ECRS and will begin using a new accreditation system called CLASS.

Brandy and Megan have gone through the initial observer training and will become train the trainers this summer.

We know there will be required training for Teachers and probably IAs in the future, but they haven't released what that will look like. What they have given us is this 3hr Intro to CLASS course that is self-paced and gives an overview of what CLASS is like and components of the observation.

This is not a required PD, but would be very beneficial for ALL staff to complete as we move into the "piloting" phase of CLASS. You will not get paid for this PD.
