Task Boxes

Yaribelle and Yareli wanted to help Mr. Thomas' Structured Education Classroom to become more independent. They met with Mr. Thomas and came up with a way to help. The girls made task boxes, which are assignments that students with special needs can complete independently. Yareli and Yaribelle volunteered in the class to better understand the students' needs. Next, they created six different tasks and added visual steps to completing the tasks. They thought visuals would help the students be more independent. To create the visuals, they used cameras and PowerPoint to sequence steps. Yaribelle and Yareli plan on making several more task boxes before the end of the year.

Team members are creating a color matching task for students to complete.

This is template in PowerPoint. Yaribelle and Yareli import pictures of the task to create visual directions.
