Composting

Abby and Elizabeth noticed students were throwing a lot of fruits and vegetables away at breakfast and lunch. They decided Turnbow needs to compost to help save the environment. They created a Google Slide presentation to share with students to help spread the word on composting. Next, they plan to gather compostable food material for a week and weigh it to determine how much food our Turnbow Community throws away. They designed a poster to hang in the classrooms so kids know what can be safely composted. The poster was created in Canva. The team also wanted to know what fruits and vegetables students liked and disliked. They will share the information gathered with the School District. They hope if kids get more food they like there will be less waste.

Here they are practicing for their presentation. Click below to look at the Google Slides.

The team is laminating their final poster design to pass out to classrooms.
