USE OF SPACE & TIME
Task: Provides flexible spaces that promote inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and community.
Creates spaces that are designed to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Promotes curiosity, circulation and highlights new topics through displays.
Runs centers as part of LSE library classes where students rotate between Makerspace and technological activities.
Variety of seating options and work spaces to accommodate individuals, small groups, and large group learning.

Maintains a Google Calendar showing use and availability of AHS library spaces for school and community meetings.
Utilizes LibraryTrac Google Forms to keep track of library usage during the school day.
Maintains AHS Computer Lab and Makerspaces for class and individual use.
COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP
Task: Participates in setting the school district’s vision and strategic plan for digital learning and fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation to empower teachers and learners.
Collaborates with teachers to provide resources, instruction, and technology support.
Supports students in practicing inquiry processes and self-assessment.
Collaborates with CESA to integrate ITL skills into the curriculum.
Participates in district and school committees.
Introduces and routinely updates staff and students about new databases and technological resources to utilize in the classroom setting with students 4K - 12th grade.
CURRICULUM, INSTRUCTION & ASSESSMENT
Task: Leads in the selection, integration, organization, and sharing of digital resources and tools to support transformational teaching and learning and develops the digital curation skills of others.
Consults leading experts, such as American Library Association, American Association of School Librarians and DPI, on best practices.
Provides lessons at LSE and MVS once a week for thirty minutes using a scope and sequence which aligns with ITL and AASL standards.
Provides lessons at AMS individually and collaboratively.
Facilitates Makerspace Technology & Design elective course at AHS.
PERSONALIZED PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
Task: Leads professional learning to cultivate broader understanding of the skills that comprise success in a digital age (e.g. critical thinking, information literacy, digital citizenship, technology).
Maintains AHS Library website for teacher and student access to online resources.
Distributes continuing education resources to teachers via online link and Professional Development library.
Offers tutorials for staff on how to use the databases and other online resources bought with CSF to use for their planning and teaching.
ROBUST INFRASTRUCTURE
Task: Provides and advocates for equitable access to collection tools using digital resources, programming, and services in support of the school district’s strategic vision.
Usernames & passwords for databases subscribed by the district available to students/staff at any time via website and protected Google Doc.
Subscribes to databases and online literacy resources, such as WDSLC/Overdrive ebooks and audiobooks and DestinyDiscover.
Utilize and inform staff about the features of GoGuardian for classroom use.
BUDGET & RESOURCES
Task: Leverages an understanding of school and community needs to identify and invest in digital resources such as books and eBooks to support student learning.
Utilizes Common School Funds to strategically improve library collections and resources to support the library program.
Analyzes online database usage reports to determine value of renewing subscriptions.
Runs Titlewave Collection Analysis frequently to support weeding and purchasing decisions.
Surveys staff and students regarding wants and needs to support weeding and purchasing decisions.
Seeks out alternative funding through grant opportunities.
Manages and spends all Common School Funds across the district libraries.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Task: Participates in setting the school district’s vision and strategic plan for digital learning and fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation to empower teachers and learners.
Promotes student use of Vaughn Public Library through public library staff presentation to students and field trips to the library.
Connects with staff at Vaughn Public Library for collaborative reading promotions.
Promotes the Ashland Free Little Libraries.
Brings guests to library to present on careers and local organizations.
DATA & PRIVACY
Task: Teaches and promotes student data and privacy through their instruction and role as an educational leader.
Username and passwords of subscription databases listed in closed Google Doc.
Informs students through ITL standards different internet safety topics. A few examples of this would be: creating a strong and secure password, using credible sources while researching, citing sources from reliable resources (digital and print).
