School District of Ashland Public School Libraries receive the majority of their funding through Wisconsin Common School Funds. "These funds (commonly known as Library Aid) are used to purchase library books and other instructional materials. The Common School Fund is the primary, and often only, source of funding for school libraries in Wisconsin. " (WI DPI) Common
School Funds are distributed across 7 categories. Books, Audio, Databases, Magazines, Newspapers, Realia, & Technology. For the purpose of this plan we will organize under these categories, but also add in subcategories of our own choosing to give you a better glimpse into our collections.
