The Victorian Era was so important because of many things but some of the reason's they were so important is because they invented things that we still use today. For example, in 1838 the first photograph was taken by Louis Daguerre. In 1879 the electric light bulb was invented by Swan and Edison for home use. In 1885 a Safety Bicycle was invented there. If we get down to the real answer its because of the history that happened there.

Rich families taught there children at home until there were ten. Then they went to public schools. Like Eton. Girls had very few schools that they could go to. Poorer children went to free charity schools or Dame schools.

Rich Victorians redistribute their wealth by giving money and gifts to the poor. When middle class people would work for the rich, the rich gave the middle class let them have two days off. Most people had a Christmas tree and decorated it with something called "the crackers". Originally it was supposed to be sweets in a twist on fancy colored paper. Then it was changed to being love notes, paper hats, small toys, and made them go BANG! People sent post cards to each other too.
