Charles Dickens had 7 siblings Alfred Lamert, Frances, Harriet, Augustus, Frederick, Letitia, and Alfred Allen Dickens. His parents names were John and Elizabeth Dickens. Growing up they were a poor family, in 1824 his father got arrested for not being able to pay his debt. But once Charles gained fame from being a writer his dad would go behind his back and sneak loans from friends and publishers. Then, later on Dickens married Catherine Hogarth after his first book, The Pickwick Papers . During the 1850´s, Dickens suffered two losses, his father and daughter passed.
Charles John Huffman Dickens was born February 7th, 1812. He was born in Landport, Portsmouth, UK. He went to school at Wellington House Academy as a kid for education.

Charles Dickens wrote his first novel back in 1836 and it was named "The Pickwick Papers" which was published by Chapman & Hall. His most popular novel/Book was "A Christmas Carol" and it was published in 1843 and it also went on Broadway on December 1st 1994 until December 2003. Some of his other most popular books are "Great Expectations", "Our Mutual Friend", and "David Copperfield".
