Dear Middleton Families,
My name is Mirna Eshaya and this is my second year at Middleton as an EL teacher! I graduated college from Northeastern Illinois University with a major in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Psychology. I also attended National Louis University where I received my EL endorsement. My teaching background is in preschool and early childhood for about 10 years, but I had the honor of working with students that came from many different cultural backgrounds!
I am Assyrian and I was born in Baghdad, Iraq and lived in Jordan for a few years before immigrating to America with my siblings and parents. I remember attending school for the first time in America and, not knowing the language and culture, I was very nervous! But with the love and dedication of my wonderful teachers, I had a wonderful experience and a love for learning! Remembering my teachers and my positive experience in school, even as a new student in a new country, I had the desire to grow up and become a teacher to one day see my students grow and have a joy for learning!
In my spare time, I love to go for walks/hikes, exercise, go to the movies, try different foods and restaurants, hang out with my friends and family, play sports (such as basketball and tennis) and music! I love to sing and I also play the guitar and drums!
I'm so excited to be working in this wonderful community!
Ms. Eshaya
