About the Teacher

Hello EL families!! My name is Mrs. Thakkar, and this year I'll be working with 1st, 2nd and 4th grade EL students. I grew up in Hoffman Estates and went to college at DePaul University! Once I graduated, in 2009, I moved back home and started working in Schaumburg. Shortly after I switched over to Culver Elementary School in Niles, IL. I had the opportunity to teach EL for two years and 4th grade for one year. After that I came to Middleton! I love being a part of the Middleton family. It brings me so much pride and joy in what I do! In 2015 I graduated from National Louis University with my masters in Curriculum and Instruction and an endorsement in English Language Leaners. 

A few of my favorite things to do on my spare time are visiting new restaurants, trying new food, and traveling to places I've never been to. My favorite vacation has to be Hawaii and Costa Rica! 

I also enjoy learning about new technology, cooking and baking, and spending time outside! 

Oh and of course I love to spend time with my precious family and friends!
