About the Teacher

I grew up in neighboring Evanston, IL and went to college at The University of Iowa where I majored in English and minored in Spanish (and spent my "free" time in the swimming pool, diving). After graduating, I spent time in Spain and Mexico improving my Spanish and teaching English. When I returned to Evanston, IL, I continued my studies and earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching and ELL Endorsement at National Louis University. I have now lived in Skokie for more than twenty years.

I started my teaching career in Des Plaines where I taught for eleven years, mostly teaching 4/5 multi-age. When I came to District 73.5, I worked with first and second grade ELL students.  More recently, I taught third grade here for four years, and then fourth grade for nine years.  I am so excited to be working again with our multilingual learners here at Middleton! 

All three of my children went through District 73.5, and I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of such a fantastic, caring community!
