Literacy

• No spelling this week

• Novel Study - Silverwing. - Story Map - draw a detailed map of the story - Due on Thursday. Final novel quiz on Wednesday.

• Drama - holiday group skit - planning and presenting.

Math

• Multiplication Times Tables practice - working on accuracy, speed and memorizing facts.

• Please practice this at home and over the holidays. When we return in January we will be moving onto factoring and double digit multiplication and we really need to know our basic facts.

Technology - Sharing google documents and peer editing our work.

Reminders

• Virtual Christmas Concert on Thursday @ 1:10 pm.

• Report Cards home last Friday - please return the signed envelope. This ensures me that you have read the online report card - thanks.

  Spelling activities include 10 Sentences, Alphabetical Order (all words) and Draw and Label (10 words) Quiz on Friday.

• Novel Study - Silverwing. Literary Plot Profile- graphing the story's key events, Story Map - draw a map of the story. 10 Years from Now - Creative writing.

Math

• Multiplication Tables for 7, 8, 9, 11, 12

Reminders

• Please wear blue and/or white clothing and bring a santa hat for our dress rehearsal for our virtual Christmas concert. Thursday, Dec. 10th

Literacy

• Spelling groups are on hold until the new year. For the next two weeks we will do spelling activities using the words from Silverwing. Students had a pretest on Monday and will write 10 sentences and complete syllabication using all 20 words. Spelling quiz on Friday.

• Novel Study - Silverwing. Pop up setting activity. Writing activity - 10 years from now.

Math

• Patterns quiz on Tuesday.

• Multiplication and Divsion strategies over the month of December.

• Technology - Coding- Canada Learns Code week. Coding unplugged learning to understand algorithms and debugging.
