Family Activity:

Camouflage Roz! As Roz learns to hide and survive in the wild, she learns a lot from the other animals. In your package you received an outline of Roz. You can even trace a few more if you want to try a few disguises. First, think of what environment she might be in. Forest? Mountains? Beach? Then think of how she could stay hidden and safe. You could always take your Roz outside and test her out! Don't forget to send pictures of your camouflaged Roz to Mme Reid at areid@saanichschools.ca. (If you don't want your picture included in the gallery, please let me know!)

School Activity:

This week at school, Mini Roz will be hiding around Deep Cove. If you see her, come to the library at recess to put your name in the weekly draw! She will move around, so keep your eye out!

Discussion Points:

Ch. 26- What did Roz learn from the performer? Can you think of other animal who have tricks like this?

Ch. 29- How does Roz convince the Beavers to help her build a nest?

Ch. 30- How and why are the animals changing their opinions of Roz?

Ch. 35- As Brightbill learns to swim, Roz thinks about how much they have helped each other. How do they both rely on each other?

Ch. 40- Roz and Brightbill have many questions about the ship. What questions did you have? Do you have any predictions?

Ch. 42- Roz is thinking about how she has changed since her earliest memories. How have you changed as you've grown up? What are things you can do now that you can remember learning? How have your ideas or likes/dislikes changed?
