Family Activity:

Make a bookmark!! In your kit you received some cardstock, ribbon, and stickers. Make a bookmark that you can use while you read The Wild Robot. Add anything you want. Be creative!! Bring it to the library to show Mme Reid or Ms Tom and we will put your name in for the weekly prize draw!

Also, I would love to get some photos for our gallery of families reading together or students enjoying the book!! If you have some you'd like to share, don't hesitate to send them to me at areid@saanichschools.ca

Discussion points:

Ch. 2- What character traits would you use to describe the otters?

Ch. 5- How do you think Roz will get up the sea cliffs?

Ch. 7- What evidence shows that Roz is not made for the wilderness? If Roz could feel, what emotions do you think she would have?

Ch. 13- How does Roz learn about survival? What did the other animals do in the storm?

Ch. 16- Why was the bird upset with Roz while she hid in the tree?

Ch. 20- What do you predict will happen now that Roz is beginning to understand the animals?

Ch. 24- How do you think the accident will impact Roz's life? What would you do in her situation?

Ch. 26- What is Roz going to do with the egg?
