The Common Core State Standards will challenge your child in math this year. We will be using Eureka Math along with other tools and programs, to take him/her to the higher levels of thinking expected from the Common Core. Your child will learn things this year that you didn’t learn when you were in fifth grade. The critical areas of focus for this year include:
Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions
Using 2-digit divisors to divide
Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing decimals to the thousandths place
Area and Volume
