Middle School Classroom Behavior Plan
Goals:
- To be safe
- To be respectful.
- To be responsible.
- To own your education.
Each student will:
- Come to class with required materials, which includes your agenda, and be ready to learn.
Negative Consequences
When a student chooses not to follow the classroom rules the following will happen:
- A warning (verbal or non-verbal).
- Student moves to yellow.
- Student moves to red and detention is issued. Some incidents, if severe enough will warrant an immediate move to red.
- Detention is served at the next lunch. Enter name and reason into detention calendar and record the name under Det. Data tab.
- For major discipline incidents, the student will be sent to the office with an Office Referral Form.
- If a student attends class without being prepared it is a tardy. This includes leaving an agenda in their locker. Should a student come to school without their agenda it will be a detention.
- A student is permitted five restroom hall passes per quarter. Once all five are used up they will be marked tardy. Three tardies = detention.
Positive Consequences
The following will happen when the rules are met and exceeded:
- Verbal and/or Physical Praise
- Short, specific praise
- Praise effort more than product
- High-fives, smiles, pats on the back, Bulldog Tickets
- Frequency
- Maintain a 4:1 ratio regarding positive to negative contacts
