Albanese Merrillville, IN

A History Lesson

Albanese Candy is located in Merrillville, Indiana. It was founded in 1983 by Scott Albanese, who grew up very close to us in Dolton, Illinois. The Albanese Candy Factory makes gummies and chocolate-covered goods. When Albanese opened it employed 12 people. Today, about 450 people work for the company, and the candy ships to over 41 countries!

A Military connection

Did you know that Albanese soldier-shaped gummies were shipped to Iraq and given to soldiers stationed there in 2003. Soon after, Albanese created a line of military jet aircraft gummies to honor the United States Air Force!

Gummi art?

Artist Kasper Kovitz used more than 120,00 Albanese gummi bears to create a large stained glass window in the Espace Luis Vuitton Museum in Tokyo! The design was about 23 feet in diameter and it was made completely out of candy.
