Induction is a two-year, individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring, support and professional learning with a focus on the:

Successful participation in the Induction Program leads to the pathway from a Preliminary Teaching Credential to a Clear Teaching Credential beginning the first year of teaching.
Identifying and assigning a Support Provider to each Participating Teacher as appropriate to the participant’s employment within the first 30 days of the participant’s enrollment in the SCUSD Induction Program. Matches are made according to:

Participating Teachers develop goals in the Individual Learning Plan (ILP) within the first 60 days of the teacher’s enrollment in the program with the support of their support provider and site administrator.
New teachers and Support Providers co-develop a road map during an initial self-assessment of teaching practice.
Building a support network by providing opportunities to dialogue with colleagues
Providing a system of formative assessment that will allow beginning teachers to reflect on their growth professionally
Structured professional education and individual guidance for first and second year teachers who have earned a California Preliminary Credential
A pathway from a Preliminary Teacher Credential to a Clear Teacher Credential
