*** PLEASE SANITIZE YOUR HANDS BEFORE USING YOUR DEVICE ***
from time to time, you'll need some help, and we're here to make it happen!
Oh no!
If your device is completely broken, we can get you a loaner while we attempt to fix yours. Drop off your device in the main office of your school building, and be ready with your Student ID Card. The office will assign you a loaner that you can use for the day, or for a few days depending on the repair.
A note of caution here... Chromebooks are typically pretty durable. The models we deploy from HP and Lenovo have great track records of being sturdy devices.
Many are ruggedized, specifically designed for K-12 school use and made to ensure typical student use with no issue. So just a heads up - they don't just "break" without cause. 😉
Please know that you are liable for damages to your device - see the User Agreement page - and will be charged for those damages, like a full replacement, broken screens, etc. See the approximate cost of those repairs here.
Whoopsie!
If you're missing a key, or a few, we can get you a loaner while we attempt to fix yours. Drop off your device in the main office of your school building, and be ready with your Student ID Card. The office will assign you a loaner that you can use for the day, or for a few days depending on the repair.
A note of caution here... keys just don't magically fall off. We know this from our own experience. Most of us have never had a key fall off from normal, responsible use. So just a heads up... 😉

Snag!
If your screen has cracked, we can get you a loaner while we attempt to fix yours. Drop off your device in the main office of your school building, and be ready with your Student ID Card. The office will assign you a loaner that you can use for the day, or for a few days depending on the repair.
A note of caution here... the screen doesn't usually crack by itself. Typically, in our experience, it means the device has been dropped, or compressed between books, or crammed in a backpack. So just a heads up... 😉

Ugh - the worst!
If your device won't boot, or gets stuck on the boot screen, we can get you a loaner while we attempt to fix yours. Typically, this is an easy fix, unless there's something physically broken or wrong with the device.

If we can fix your device issue related to a boot issue by restoring it, or power-washing (not with water!) it, there's no cost associated with the fix.
No problem!
This is typically an easy fix - the Technology Aide, or any Tech Team member can help reset the password to your account, and several other staff members can help. The library is the first stop, and if you can't find someone there, any principal can reset your password.
Oh Snap!
If you ventured outside the guidelines spelled out in the User Agreements, it's likely we reset your password.
We track where you go, and if you visit, or attempt to visit a blocked website, we may reset your password automatically. If you see the blocked website notification screen (at right), you've ventured too far. Here's how to get your access back...
Contact your assistant principal, or school counselor. They can check why it was reset, and set a new one for you.
Once logged back in, you need to tread carefully.
Please review the User Agreements again to be sure you understand what is expected of you.
Easy!
Once we have your device (you turned it in at the office, right?), we begin work to restore / repair / replace it. Once it's ready for pickup, you'll be emailed by our team that it's ready to go. The email will contain what the resolution was, i.e. did we replace a key, fix a screen, etc. and how much you may be charged, if liable, on your student account. Your principal will get a copy of the email, too, so they're in the loop.
Pick it back up in the main office of the building you're in. You'll have to show your Student ID Card to claim your device.
Be sure to bring your loaner back, too, as you can only equip one device at a time.
Easy!
Here are some of the common extensions our staff and students use for instructional purposes. Please note, that per district policy, we only allow certain whitelisted extensions and apps. If you are denied or are unable to install something, contact your teacher for review, and they will let the Tech Team know. Also, just because they're whitelisted below, doesn't mean you'll need them. #ProTip - only install and run the extensions you need.
Visit the Chrome Web Store for SCSROCKETS, here, to see all whitelisted apps & extensions.
Attach your Chromebook to your printer using a USB cord. When you go to print your file, you should see your printer listed as an option.
