JANUARY 2021

THANK YOU for the many wonderful prayers, encouragement, treats, cards, decor, and gift cards that I received for Christmas from the youth! Thank you so much for adding such generosity and joy to my Christmas. I am truly blessed by each of you and your presence in my life :)

a quick note from elena

WOOOHOOO - Happy NEW Year!

"New" ... such a veristile word we have. It brings feelings of excitement (at least for me) in the thought of a NEW year, NEW beginnings, NEW chances, making plans and setting in motion things that we hope to produce something NEW within us or our lives. We all love opportunities for NEWness...NEW home, NEW relationships, NEW baby, NEW clothes, NEW shows, NEW, NEW, NEW. But, new can also be an absolutely terrifying word! NEW can be unkown, unfamiliar, and totally out of our comfort-zone! But no matter where we find ourselves amid whatever newness we face, what good news and assurance we have in Christ...the one who reNEWs us with his perfect peace and love. He who so freely offers us such fullness in life simply because he loves us THAT much and desires closeness to us amid all our highs and lows. And boy, we've seen plenty of both in this past year. Good NEWs ... haha - that sneaky little word...there it is again! Yes, Good News it certainly is :) ... And boy am I glad to hear it and share it!

Many Blessings and Prayers for each of you and your families in this new year!

family MOVIE night

Inside Out is a great family night movie that everyone...yes, even your teens... will benefit from watching (re-watching). Teens can often really struggle with the variety of emotions that wrestle within them and that crossover period as they begin to let go and morph out of the childhood years. This movie is a great converation starter with your teens about handling and discussing tough feelings and emotions. Let's face it, even as adults, we need this reminder and awareness of emotional balance. This movie sends the message that all feelings are important and that even the ones that feel negative need to be expressed in a healthy way (youthfrontiers.org). Win-Win! What better movie to add to the new year line-up?! I'm ready for & hoping they come out with the young adult & parent life movie sequals - LOL....wouldn't that be hilarous!
